COVID-19 – PROTECTING EMPLOYEES AND CLIENTS AT KATANA IS AT THE HEART OF OUR PRIORITIES

Protecting all customers, partners and employees is a top priority for Katana. Protecting our employees from the effects of a pandemic is at the heart of our concerns. It is also important for us to support our customers in their fight against the spread of the epidemic within their premises.

Katana has set up an internal working group which reviews the situation on a daily basis in order to monitor compliance with the recommendations, plan the scenarios to be implemented according to the evolution of the epidemic and follow the recommendations of the OFSP.

The working group is made up of the CEO (Sid Apaydin), the CFO (Martin Pfeifle) and the COO (Michel Robin).

MEASURES

Strict compliance with the measures of the federal council

  • The working group provides daily advice and implements measures which are constantly adapted by the OFSP on a daily basis.
  • Thorough hand washing and disinfection:
Office :
  • Hand washing is compulsory when entering and leaving the office and regularly during the day
  • The door handles are disinfected in the morning, at noon and in the evening
Trucks :
  • Emptied containers are systematically disinfected before returning them to the customer.
  • Drivers carry hydro-alcoholic solutions which must be systematically used following contact with people.

«Social Distance»:

  • Employees are required to keep a distance of at least 1.5 meters from each other and to occupy only one workstation in two.
  • Drivers are not allowed to meet for lunch or coffee. Teams should not come into contact with each other to avoid cross-contamination.
  • Drivers should not come into the office without the prior approval of one of the members of the working group.
  • It is no longer allowed to take breaks in the kitchen and smoking areas of the offices with colleagues.
  • Cough and sneeze in a tissue or at the crook of the arm
  • Stay at home if you have a fever or cough: People with symptoms of any kind (including a cold, headache, flu) are not allowed into the office - they are reported periodically and notify our HR team of any suspicions.
  • Avoid shaking hands: shaking hands or kissing with colleagues or with customers and suppliers is no longer allowed.
  • No organization or participation in events of more than 200 people: During working hours, employees are not allowed to participate in events with more than 200 people. Participation in such private events must be reported, after which the task force can decide whether a homework measure should apply to the employee for the next 14 days. Small events can be organized at the request of customers and with appropriate protective measures, participation in these events by Katana staff can only be done after approval by the working group.

OTHER INTERNAL MEASURES

  • Global and consistent communication with employees: Employees are periodically informed by email of developments and the updating of instructions.
  • Implementation of work at home: All employees who can do their work at home are requested to do so until further notice and are only allowed to enter the office with the prior agreement of the HR team.
  • No large internal meetings: As much as possible, meetings are transferred over telecommunication circuits - physical meetings with more than three people are prohibited until further notice.
  • Collection of employee travel data: All employees have announced their trips in the past 4 weeks; these data are systematically collected. Planned private trips or stays in larger groups should also be reported to the HR team, which reserves the right to apply the "work at home" rule in the event of a risky situation.
  • All employees who have been in a high-risk area from which cases of infection were subsequently confirmed (currently, in China, Northern Italy, Iran, Japan, South Korea and Singapore ) must work from home and avoid contact with third parties. These trips apply to people who live under the same roof.
  • Obligation to inform in the event of illness in the immediate environment: Employees who themselves display flu symptoms or who have been in close contact with people showing flu symptoms are asked to immediately inform the team HR; they are requested to stay at home and inform their doctor.
  • External persons on Katana premises: External meetings are postponed to a later date if possible. Visits that take place must be recorded and the following form must be completed and confirmed before the visit by your visitor: ACCESS FORM HERE
  • Mobility: Employees are made aware of the risks associated with public transport and are encouraged, as far as possible, to use other means of transport such as cycling.
